CLOSE-UP POTRAIT OF THE GOLDEN TIGER
Golden tigers have brown-orange stripes, whereas "normal" tigers have black ones. They are the product of a recessive gene among Bengal tigers, the same responsible for white tigers. There are only a few dozens in the world (only in captivity). Unfortunately, and like the white tiger, they are often the victim of inbreeding...

PINING AWAY FOR HER
This lion at the St. Louis zoo was clearly pining for the lioness sharing his exhibit. She had climbed up into the tree above him. He just sat there looking up at her, but didn't dare climb the tree after her. Eventually, when she refused to come down, he laid down on a fallen tree branch just below her.
